Hi there CDERP. I'm currently in the process of working my way through the MCCE1 modules. I'm now up to the 'Motivational Interviewing' section and am querying one of the key principles, being 'Developing Discrepancy'. The theory states "create distinction between current behaviour and behaviour based on broader goals and values articulated by the client as an argument for change and increase the distinction".

Huh? Sorry to be a pain - but I'm not really sure what this sentence actually means. Looking for a possible example, case study, etc to put it into context?

Shannon.
