This short course will examine the rationale for individualised approaches to employment. The course looks at the two accepted approaches to individualised employment support; Individual Place and Support and Customised Employment. Both practice models will be compared and contrasted for participants. This supports a basic understanding of the approaches, their strengths and weaknesses and target groups.

Course participants will develop a basic understanding of the practice models. This will allow them to make an informed choice on which model to use when supporting clients. The short course is no substitute for full professional development. It is not designed to provide the knowledge necessary to fully deliver either practice model. It provides the necessary information for the course participant to make an informed decision on what professional development and knowledge they will need to deliver services effectively to clients or family members.

This course is equal to 1 CPD credit.
